Term suggested for Nicole Kidman - star of Moulin Rouge, The Hours and Australia - What, All Of It but also The Interrupterer - by Richard "Podcast Pom" in Sydney. Richard suggested it was because Kidman is "thin and wooden." The nickname did not catch on in quite the same way as Richard's other suggestion, Huge Action.
The name plays on the grand tradition of criticising an actor's ability to produce a convincing performance by likening them to a piece of wood. This technique has also been used to good effect when discussing Matthew Mahogany and Ikea Knightley, though Mark has officially rescinded both these nicknames.
One previous suggestion had been Nicole Gasp, Seductive Whisper, Hand-on-chest Kidman, but that didn't get much pickup either.
