Radio 5

The first incarnation of the radio station that would go on to be 5 Live. When first launched in 1990 as an eclectic features-and-childrens-and-bits-of-sport station, Mark Kermode (though not Simon Mayo, who was busy being huge at Radio 1) was a presenter on the roster. This explains his continued bafflement and references to the "new name" of 5 Live, despite the moniker "Radio 5" having not been in existence since 1994.

It was in this incarnation of the station that Mark appeared on the Danny Baker Show and made his ill-fated Oscar bet.
