A British science fiction / horror / comedy from writer / director Joe Cornish that put Star Wars star John Boyega on the map but Mark said had polarised some critics though he admitted to Joe in the studio he was "somewhere in the middle". Although he did not dislike the film, Mark said he "wanted it to be funnier" and "needed it to be scarier". This caused a muted awkward debate between Mark and Joe who like and respect each other's views. Cornish said that Mark wasn't reviewing Attack the Block but in fact was reviewing Shaun Of The Dead (something that would later have echoes in the way the Wall E review became all about Silent Running).
